South London
What a fucking place. Hardest place to commute out of and seemingly populated by utter fucking divs.

If your Mrs ever asks you to cross the Thames to live, say no. I absolutely hate this fucking place.

I find it's pretty much the same anywhere in London

We like it that way...The obtuse commute prevents all the unimaginative fucking divs who need to live 5 minutes from a tube station from making it totally unaffordable - innit?

;-)

Prefer south London to east London.

Each to their own Mashed, mate. Getting to work in the morning is tedious. Grove Park's pleasant.... I live in Bromley North, but going in commute via Grove Park. Everyone's odd.

Re: South London
Well if you are going to live in Bromley north with probably the shittest rail link in the south east, then you are going to have problems.

Moving a bit further out and you are in town in 15 mins. Petts wood, Orpington, chelsfield to name a few...

Meh.

Communications, at least to the City, are much improved since the 80s. But most of it has still retained its... ahm ... culturally diverse character - e.g. New Cross is still Pikey Central even though the Amersham Arms has clearly been taken over by Gavros beardy types.

Lived here 5 years, P, always found it the same. Started in Bromley Common then Orpington and now Bromley North.

I fancy Leigh on Sea.

Transport has always been a bit shit but tbh it's never been pleasant from the east either. No idea what it's like now but coming in from Forest Hill all the trains were always and I mean always late but they were nowhere near as packed as anything going through Forest Gate/Stratford etc.

Remember getting the train into work from Forest Gate people used to literally fall out of the trains and not be able to get back on they were that packed and good luck trying to get on at Stratford going out any time from about 5pm to 8pm. Can't imagine Westfield has helped that.

Just live within a bus ride of Lewisham and use the DLR. The best train line in London.

I crossed the Thames and moved to East Sussex and fucking love it.
80 mile round trip in the car to work cannot overshadow the marked improvement in quality of life.

I live in Borough, Mrs lives in Tooting Bec.

Will most likely be moving back to Wanstead shortly, but I'd rather stay where I am.

Transport sarf is so much better than it was when I was lad

Hardly ever crossed the river, back then if you did it was on a bus.

As kids we'd shudder as the bus went over the river

South London isnt one huge homogenous pile of efluenent. Its a huge variety of stools many of which are equally comparable to the similar looking stools in North London. Unless you live right in the centre like Mayfair or Soho.

Bird I work with is working from home (and yesterday) as she reckons there are over running engineering works from the weekend.

She lives in Dartford and must think we were all born yesterday.

Typical weak, Kent, Millwall cunt.

Re: South London
Loads of West Ham around Dartford way.

Kent/SE London is more West Ham than a lot of east London.

Fact.
